Abington is a member of the South Shore Vocational Technical (SSVT) School District. After years of painstaking research, analysis and due diligence, SSVT has made the decision to ask its district members to build a new school, which will be funded by district members and the Massachusetts School Building Authority.
Abington students are able to apply and attend the school. In the 2024 school year, Abington has 114 students enrolled. Abington ranks third of the nine schools in amount of students attending.
Abington's election will be held at Beaver Brook. Polls are open 9AM - 5PM.
This is not a town-specific vote, but rather an aggregate vote combining the votes from all nine towns. If the project is approved, each town is bound to fulfill its portion of the borrowing. Each municipality will determine how it will fund its share of the project (i.e. debt exclusion or override).
