Central Street Bridge Closing for 19 Weeks

As of Friday, April 14 until further notice, the Central Street bridge will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians for repair work. All businesses, homes, and town resources including the police station and basketball court on Central Street will be accessible by using Park Ave or Plymouth Street. At this time, we expect the bridge to be closed for 19 weeks. 

The bridge’s beams and deck are being replaced and new railings will be installed. A review and approval for funding of for the project was approved at the 2020 Special Town Meeting. It is imperative that this project is completed to avoid weight reductions or permanent closure of the bridge.

The town looks forward to this project creating safer infrastructure for vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.
