Abington's Town Hall form of government relies on volunteer boards and committees to help create policies and guide the Town. Appointments are served in terms which can range between one and three years. Most positions, regardless of their term length, end on June 30. In addition to the regular term ending, vacancies become available available for a variety of reasons such as term resignations.

If you are interested in using your expertise and enthusiasm on a board please fill out an application online or in person at the Town Manager's office at Town Hall.

Volunteer Board Application Process

  1. Fill out an application online or in person at the Town Manager’s office

  2. Appropriate board/committee or town manager, depending on appointing authority reviews applications

  3. If there are multiple applicants, the appointing authority may ask applicants to attend a meeting to discuss their interest in serving on the board/committee.

  4. The appointing authority makes the final decision and the resident is notified in person (if at the meeting), by email or phone.
