Public Disclosure: PENDING PRELIMINARY CERTIFICATION- 

Monday, November 10th, 2025 through Monday, November 17th, 2025

 

Following state statutes and Department of Revenue (DOR) regulations, the Board of Assessors is completing the FY2026 Revaluation of all real and personal property in Abington.   The assessments provided are PENDING PRELIMINARY CERTIFICATION from the DOR.

Massachusetts law requires that all property be assessed at its fair cash value as of January 1, 2025.  Fiscal Year 2026 assessments are based on analysis of arms-length sales and market conditions that occurred during the 2024 calendar year.  Sales from the year 2023 were used to value property when the number of 2024 sales were insufficient for analysis.  The Board of Assessors has conducted the necessary analysis and adjusted assessments accordingly.   Please note, assessments will not reflect real estate sales or market conditions from calendar year 2025, this will be reflected in Fiscal Year 2026 values.

 

The Department of Revenue requires the Assessors to publicly disclose the proposed assessments for a minimum of five business days for the public to view and have the opportunity to inquire about the new assessments before they are certified. Please view the proposed values here: by Map/Lot:   or by Owner:   or by Address:    This information will be available for review Monday, November 10th, 2025 through Monday, November 17, 2025. 

 

Taxpayers may also inquire about their new assessments during our disclosure period by calling 781-982-2107, visiting the Assessor’s Office at 500 Gliniewicz Way during regular business hours. Inquires may also be made via email to jhurst@abingtonma.gov. Town Hall business hours Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and Friday 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

 

The Bureau of Local Assessments within the Department of Revenue performs a comprehensive review of the Town's analysis to ensure uniform and equitable property values.  The values presented for disclosure are PENDING PRELIMINARY CERTIFICATION.

At the expiration of the disclosure period, the Town will seek final certification from the state and finalize assessments for tax billing.
