Pursuant to Section 7-11 of the Abington Charter, the Select Board calls the attention of all residents and others to the fact that the following vacancy exists.
Position: 1 position on the Abington Board of Water Commissioners, Term:
approximately for 6 months until the 2025 annual Town Election
The Abington / Rockland Joint Water Works is responsible for the production and supply of water to over 33,500 residents in Abington, Rockland, Hanson,
Pembroke, Hingham, and Whitman. Our department has one drinking water
treatment plant in Pembroke, a second drinking water treatment plant in
Rockland, and a third drinking water treatment plant in Abington. We maintain
three tank storage facilities that include one booster station as well.
The mission of Abington/Rockland Joint Water Works is to provide a reliable and efficient water service for our Abington, Rockland, and Joint customers.
Any person who desires to be considered for appointment to the position may, within ten days following the date the notice is posted, file with the Select Board a statement which sets forth in clear and specific terms the qualifications which he/she holds for the position.
