The Town of Abington is pleased to share that Amy Barrett, Director of the Abington Council on Aging, has been recognized by the Abington Police Department as the inaugural recipient of the Chief David G. Majenski Community Partners Award.
This newly established award honors individuals who exemplify the power of collaboration between public safety agencies and community leaders in strengthening Abington’s resilience and quality of life. It is named in recognition of former Chief David G. Majenski and celebrates the importance of community partnership now and for generations to come.
In her role as Director of the Council on Aging, Amy Barrett has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and advocacy on behalf of Abington’s senior residents. Through her work, she has ensured that older adults in the community are supported, respected, and remain connected. Amy has also fostered a strong and trusted partnership with the Abington Police Department, helping to improve communication, coordination, and outreach to better serve seniors through programs, initiatives, and community engagement.


The Abington Police Department was joined by the Interim Town Manager Michael Moresco and members of the Abington Select Board in recognizing Amy for her outstanding service and commitment to collaboration.
