New Community Garden

The Town of Abington is proud to announce the successful completion of its MVP 2.0 "Growing Greener" grant project — a community-driven initiative that has brought new life and green space to two areas in Abington. This project was selected by residents through a survey and funded through Massachusetts' Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs MVP Program As part of this initiative, newly constructed raised bed gardens have been installed at both Lincoln Boulevard and Green Street Park, providing residents with beautiful, functional growing spaces right in their own neighborhoods. The gardens are already thriving, and colorfully painted pallets add a vibrant, artistic touch to the landscape.

Adding an even more personal and creative dimension to the project, local artist Adam O'Day contributed a stunning original mural, which he both designed and began painting on-site. His work beautifully captures the spirit of community and growth that defines this project.

What made this effort truly special was the dedicated committee that brought it all together. This passionate group of volunteers worked tirelessly to plan, plant, and beautify these community spaces. The committee will continue to steward and manage the gardens going forward, ensuring that "Growing Greener" continues to flourish for years to come.

The Town of Abington extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who made this project a reality. We look forward to watching these gardens grow and the community continue to gather around them.
