TRASH ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Trash Advisory Committee is a citizen or stakeholder board that advises local governments on waste management, recycling, and sustainability policies. They do not have executive or binding decision-making powers.
Core Functions & Duties
Policy Recommendations: Provide recommendations to the select board regarding trash collection, recycling, user fees, sustainability and financing options.
Sustainability & Recycling: Promote and research waste reduction, composting, and improved recycling rates to lower landfill tonnage and save town funds.
Community Education: Develop public awareness campaigns to improve resident compliance with local recycling rules and waste diversion initiatives.
