At approximately 8 o’clock this morning, Sgt. Gillan located a stolen motor vehicle in the driveway at 230 Railroad Street. Further investigation revealed that an
individual with an active arrest warrant resided at that address. Abington Police Officers arrived to assist.
Officers knocked on the door and announced their presence. Someone inside the home opened the blinds to look outside but refused to answer the door. Officers attempted for approximately 10 minutes to persuade the occupants to open the door. Based on the active warrant, a decision was made to force entry.
A total of four individuals were found hiding when officers entered the residence. One person refused to identify himself and had a large knife within grasping distance of where he was hiding. Through a thorough investigation, it was determined that he was in possession of the stolen vehicle. Upon arrival at the police station, he was booked, and his fingerprints revealed his true identity.
Yeizon Delarosa, 38, of Boston, was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit a crime, true name violations, and was also taken into custody on the outstanding warrant. Carmen Garcia, 39, of Worcester, was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Thanks to the professionalism, diligence, and attention to detail demonstrated by the officers involved, the situation was resolved safely & without injury despite the lack of cooperation and risks to officer safety.
