Arrest

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, a 16-year-old juvenile male from Weymouth was taken into custody with the assistance of the Pembroke Police Department at a Pembroke address on two warrants after being identified as the individual involved in the September 5th stolen motor vehicle incident previously reported by the Abington Police Department.

The male juvenile is being charged with the following as a result of the Abington incident:

- Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle

- Resisting Arrest

- Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle

- Failure to Stop for Police

- Use Without Authority

- Operating to Endanger

- Marked Lanes Violations (two counts)

- Speeding (70 MPH and 40 MPH)

- Person Under 21 in Possession of Liquor

-Open Container

As noted in the original release, on September 5, 2025, Abington Police attempted to stop a stolen motor vehicle, which resulted in a pursuit into Brockton and a crash. The passenger, identified as Clayton Barbosa, 18, of Rockland, was taken into custody that night. The operator fled the scene and was not immediately located.

This week’s arrest brings closure to that portion of the investigation. No serious injuries were reported among those involved. The investigation remains ongoing, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
