A Braintree man was arrested earlier this morning by the Abington Police Department, with assistance from the Braintree Police Department, following an investigation into allegations stemming from an incident that was reported to law enforcement as occurring in 2021.
John Donovan, 43, of Braintree, has been charged with:
• Two counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14
• One count of Open and Gross Lewdness
Donovan was taken into custody without incident by the Abington Police Department, with assistance from the Braintree Police Department. He is expected to be arraigned later today at the Brockton District Court.
The arrest follows an investigation conducted by Abington Police Officer Helena Rezendes, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and Officer Gladys Morgan into allegations involving conduct reported to have occurred in 2021.
The Abington Police Department thanks the Braintree Police Department for its assistance with the arrest.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
