Due to an EMERGENCY water main repair needed on VERNON STREET in Abington. The water main will have to be shut down. Portions of Vernon Street will be without water during this time. Residents in this area may also experience discolored water.
Crews are mobilizing and will work diligently to keep the shutdown as short as possible. Please utilize the water fill station at the Water Dept on Centre Ave if needed.

There are two opportunities to hear directly from South Shore VoTech's Superintendent about the district's new school building project.
Board of Selectmen - Monday, January 13 at 6PM
Finance Committee - Wednesday, January 15 at 7PM
Residents will learn about the project and how the borrowing will be divided among each town. Residents are encouraged to ask questions.


Abington's Annual One Day Entire Town Curbside Holiday Tree Pickup, happening tomorrow, Saturday, January 11, 2025. Ensure your tree is: undecorated, no lights, no tinsel, off the stand, no plastic, and placed curbside where it’s visible.

If you do not agree with the valuation of your property, you may file an abatement. Please note, an abatement application is filed because you disagree with the valuation and/or the data, not the taxes.
🗓️Real Estate Abatement applications are due February 3, 2025 and are only open once a year. If applications are not physically in the Assessors Office or post-marked by February 3rd they will be considered late.

Abington's Compost Site is closed for winter. Thank you to all of our great volunteers who staffed the site in 2024! Mattress drop-off will be by appointment only during its closure. Please call the Health Department to arrange at (781) 982-2119.

Safe Streets 4 All is an initiative, part of 'Vision Zero', to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries on the nation’s roadways. The Vision Zero Action Plan will benefit all 17 cities and towns in the Old Colony Region. Once the Action Plan is developed, communities and projects identified in the Plan will automatically qualify to apply for a SS4A Implementation Grant.
