Saturday, December 6 is the last day Abington's Compost Site is open in 2025! Residents can drop off leaves and grass clippings, which are ground into compost. For a nominal fee, recycling of CRTs (televisions/computers and monitors) printers, propane tanks, air conditioners, microwaves, space heaters and mattresses are accepted at the compost site. Payment by check only can be made at the site.
The mattress collection program is available year-round. During the Compost Site’s off-season, appointments can be made with the Department of Health during Town Hall hours for residents to recycle their mattresses and box springs. Call (781) 982-2119.
