Green Street Park was allocated $60,000 by the Community Preservation Committee to purchase a new playground structure. The Park and Recreation Commission wants to understand the needs of the neighborhood and the greater community through a digital survey to help select the best structure. It's a great weekend for a story walk at Griffin's Dairy! Thank you to the Abington Public Library for creating this great family-friendly adventure. People can experience a beautiful nature walk at the town-owned Griffin's Dairy while stopping along the way to read 'Seeds of Change' on enlarged signs.

Abington Town Offices are closed today in honor of Juneteenth. Since 1865, Americans have come together on June 19, the day Major General Gordon Grander landed at Galveston, Texas with news that Civil War was over and enslaved people were now free, to celebrate and reflect on the end of slavery.
There is a statewide outage of the 911 emergency system. Abington residents with emergencies can call the Abington Police Department at 781-878-3232 and the Abington Fire Department at 781-982-2117.
🚨FANWORT TREATMENT AT ISLAND GROVE

Island Grove will be treated for invasive and nuisance aquatic vegetation on June 19, 2024. Last year's treatment was highly successful. This treatment will target the regrowth of invasive milfoil and curly-leaf pondweed.
Please note, on Friday, June 21, 2024 all town offices will be closed and all Town of Abington phone lines* will be down due to a scheduled power outage and the installment of a new back up generator.
