The Board is the principal executive body of the town and has general supervision over all matters not delegated to other officials or boards. It is the Town Manager's duty to carry out their policies.

Abington's Compost Site is closed for winter. Thank you to all of our great volunteers who staffed the site in 2024! Mattress drop-off will be by appointment only during its closure. Please call the Health Department to arrange at (781) 982-2119.

Safe Streets 4 All is an initiative, part of 'Vision Zero', to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries on the nation’s roadways. The Vision Zero Action Plan will benefit all 17 cities and towns in the Old Colony Region. Once the Action Plan is developed, communities and projects identified in the Plan will automatically qualify to apply for a SS4A Implementation Grant.

Abington's Special Town Meeting on Monday, November 25 did not meet its quorum of 150 registered voters and was adjourned with no actions taken. The meeting is not expected to be rescheduled.

🚸$300,000+ Safes Streets for All Funding
The Town was awarded $301,804 to conduct safety-focused corridor studies along two key corridors in the Town, Centre Avenue and Hancock Street, to identify locations for high-impact traffic calming interventions. 🚦🏘️

South Shore Vocational Technical High School is proposing a new school building project. At this month's Special Town Meeting, Article 1 would amend the Town's agreement with the school to address how the funding formula for the project would be calculated for each participating town. 1. South Shore Vocational Technical High School Agreement Amendment
2. Community Preservation Budget: Softball Field Renovations
3. Hancock/Chestnut Street Intersection Improvement Project

Join Abington's Town Planner and the Old Colony Planning Council on Monday, November 18 to discuss our Open Space and Recreation Plan which is in development. The audience is invited to share their thoughts on conservation, parks, sports fields, and more! The meeting and discussion will start at 7PM in the Cotter Room at Town Hall.

In observance of Veterans Day, Abington Town Offices will be closed on November 11, 2024. Thank you to all those who have served our country.

Show your support to local veterans by coming out for our 71st Annual Tri-Town Veterans Day Parade hosted in Abington! The parade starts at 10 AM at the entrance of the Beaver Brook School and will continue down Washington Street, down Adams Street, North Avenue (Rt. 139) and will finish by the Cellar Tavern.

🌳Abington’s Conservation Commission is seeking members!
If you are passionate about protecting nature🌍, wetlands, and 💧water resources you may be interested in serving on the Commission. The Commission meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30PM. Members of the commission are provided training and education through the Massachusetts Association of Conservation Commissions. If you are interested, apply on our website or in-person in the Town Manager's office.
