Abington's Finance Committee plays a vital role in reviewing budgets, advising on financial matters, and making recommendations on town expenditures to Town Meeting. They ensure that taxpayer money is used effectively and responsibly. This is your chance to have a direct impact on how we shape Abington’s future!

The Supporting Abington Veterans with Emergency Services 'SAVES' Fund is in its final month of making grants. A veteran or their surviving spouse is eligible for this fund to assist with food, transportation or utilities (heat/oil/electricity). This play structure is funded by a $60,000 grant through the CPA Committee.

Abington is convening a Downtown Center Business Group! Join the informational meeting being held at Arnold. Park on Wednesday, September 4 at 3PM.
The Town of Abington has a legislative earmark of $100,000 to address improvements to its downtown. The Town has some questions as to how to best use these funds and would like some assistance in working with the business community to determine the next steps. With 10 full-time employees, the DPW is responsible for maintaining Abington's 225 roadways, sidewalks, bridges, ditches, and brook clearings!

Abington's risk for West Nile Virus remains at a high level. Residents should take precautions to avoid mosquito bites. The Plymouth Mosquito Control Project accepts requests for mosquito spraying from Plymouth County residents. 📚Abington Public Schools start the new school year tomorrow August 28! It is important to drive with caution and be patient as students, parents, and bus drivers learn their new routines.

🚧Road Work/Closure Advisory
🗓️ Friday, August 23rd from 9:00pm through Saturday, August 24th at 3:00pm
🛣️ Centre Ave (Between Plymouth Street and Park Avenue)
Centre Avenue from the intersection of Plymouth Street/Route 58 to the Park Avenue intersection will be CLOSED for work being completed to MTBTA Commuter Rail crossing on Centre Avenue.
Traffic will be diverted around the area using Plymouth Street, Progress and Summer Streets, and Park Avenue/Central Street as needed. However, large trucks with with a height of more than 13.6 feet will need to seek alternate routes away from Central Street due to the low bridge.
Access to adjacent business and residences during the closure will be maintained. Police Details will be located at Centre Ave/Plymouth Street, Centre Ave/Progress and Centre Ave/Park Avenue to help facilitate traffic flows. Roadway closures and detour signs will be posted.
Please plan ahead, expect delays, seek alternate routes if possible, and follow instructions provided by public safety officials.
